BACB is a privately owned commercial bank, employing approximately 140 staff. The centre of operations is in the heart of the City of London, but the bank also has representative offices in Algiers and Tripoli, Libya.

The bank specialises in international banking in the Arab countries of North Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean, and its worldwide activities are regulated by the FSA.
