Liz Kyrianou

Head of KYC On boarding and Due Diligence

Liz decided to join BACB because of its reputation of providing a tailored experience for all of its customers. Having arrived in 2017, she was immediately given the responsibility of handling a large team. In the first two months of her employment at BACB, Liz helped embed a new structure of roles and responsibilities to those who report to her and helped create permanent roles for those who were previously contractors. Liz also oversees all aspects of client on boarding and the on-going review of clients to ensure customer due diligence is carried out line with our internal procedures and international regulatory requirements. Liz began her working career in the financial services industry at a young age, working for an investment management arm as a valuation clerk and Corporate Actions Administrator before entering the realm of KYC.

Over the years, I have worked for various sized organisations and I’ve always preferred to offer my experience to smaller, specialised banks. BACB is an organisation that truly understands its customers’ needs so this makes life at BACB more rewarding. Our diverse portfolio enables my team to expand and enhance their expertise in a holistic environment which benefits both the bank and their on-going development. I enjoy replicating BACB’s values and ensuring our customers always experience our stellar service

Oma Nwajagu

Senior Finance Associate

A qualified member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Oma joined BACB in 2014 to play an important role in the team that oversees the bank’s profit and loss.

Financial associates at larger banks often treat clients, transactions and initiatives as a line on a budget sheet but the boutique structure at BACB means that I know everyone who is involved in the areas of the business for which I am responsible. Even though we have firm and clear policies, we are small enough to look at every financial transaction on its own merits to make the right decision.

Stefan Butler

Relationship Manager within the Commodity Finance Team

Before making the move to banking, Stefan studied Music Industry Management at Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College which greatly enhanced his management skill set and provided him with insight into managing clients, individuals, teams and scenarios. He joined BACB in 2005 and had many roles across Operations and the Front Office before becoming a relationship manager in 2015. He is responsible for managing client’s needs on a daily basis whilst simultaneously protecting the Bank across a number of areas. Stefan also manages several members within the team to ensure deliverables are met across a variety of regions. He works closely with the management team to ensure individual and bank wide objectives are met with the best of integrity.

I was drawn to BACB by its ability, as a niche bank, to thrive in certain markets where other banks cannot quite perform to the same level. I’m proud of the development of BACB over the 13 years I’ve spent here; and I feel like an established member of the BACB family. Between us we’ve developed a capability to deliver support to our clients in a professional manner on a daily basis and the consequently positive results produced for all of our stakeholders.

Ollie Jenkins

Legal Counsel at BACB

Ollie joined BACB in August 2017 having previously worked at an international law firm where he completed a secondment to another bank operating in similar markets to BACB. His previous experience of providing legal advice on transactions in African and Middle Eastern markets made BACB a perfect fit for him. Ollie provides legal advice to most areas of the Bank, and has recently been integral in implementing several strategic projects and transactions. He enjoys working with a wide range of business and functional areas at BACB, as every department presents a new legal challenge and an opportunity to learn something new. Ollie loves helping to make a difference through his legal counsel to enable these departments to operate and succeed in providing BACB’s clients with the best service possible. Ollie holds an undergraduate degree in Law (LLB) from the University of Nottingham. Once he graduated from university, Ollie spent 3 months in Sydney, Australia where he trained and worked to be a solicitor.

BACB affords me the opportunity to make a significant difference to the business and functional areas of the Bank. Each day brings a different challenge that I need to solve to enable the bank to do business. This makes my daily tasks more exciting, which can be difficult to find in an in-house legal role.
