Senior Analyst - Trade Services


Responsible for all documentary credits processing which will included 1st and/or 2nd checking of documents presented thereunder and signing/processing respective payments and/or refusals within agreed timescales, always ensuring the bank’s position is protected at all times. May also be required to process other types of payments and communications issued and or received by the department as well as reconcile Nostro accounts.

Key work outputs

  • Checking of documents presented against Letters of Credit in accordance with relative rules and /or regulations ensuring the Bank’s standards are complied with in order to ensure the Bank’s position is protected at all times. This may be a first, second or single check dependent on bank specified levels of experience. Processing and/or 1st signing and verifying payments, acceptances, deferred payments, discounts under letters of credit as well as payments under collections and reimbursements, all to agreed timescales.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Bank’s sanctions and due diligence requirements as well as liaising with other departments as and when required.
  • Acts as a source of reference to all clients and counter parties.
  • Ensures that customers receive an efficient and professional service.
  • Provides training and mentorship to new staff.
  • Ensuring any issues are resolved efficiently and professionally maintaining a high standard of customer service.
  • Calculating and reviewing commissions ensuring all fees due to the Bank are collected.
  • Involvement with processing of participations, syndications and back to backs.
  • Assist in managing department workflows

Required qualifications and experience

  • A Level or Equivalent standard and or Degree level education.
  • 3 – 4 years banking experience including swift payments and general bank accounting.
  • Qualified CDCS CITF or CTFC required, or agreed to undertake within first year.
  • Detailed knowledge of documentary credits and all applicable ICC rules and publications
  • Strong communication skills with a high level of numeracy, literacy, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of collections and reimbursements desirable
  • French/Arabic language skills desirable
