Job summary:

Responsible for the production of elements of management as well as financial information to be included in both the management and financial accounts (respectively) on a monthly basis.

Responsible for VAT returns.

Along with other members of the financial control team responsible for a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and ensure the integrity of financial information.

Key work output and accountabilities:

• Along with other members of the financial control team responsible for the integrity of the general ledger and reporting systems – this includes set up of new accounts, deletion of dormant accounts and maintenance of GL mappings

• Assisting the monthly general ledger close including posting manual entries for cost and overheads, lease accounting, suspending interest on non-performing loans etc

• Reviews P&L mapping to ensure correct segmentation of income

• Contribute to the preparation of the annual financial statements, including being responsible for the preparation of individual note disclosures

• Provide responses and data for external and internal audits

• Review and submit the Bank’s quarterly VAT return

• Responsible for other tax related returns and forms such as W-8BEN, W-8IMY; BBSI returns

• Performing the balance sheet substantiation for the accounts owned by the finance team (including tax, VAT control accounts, capital and reserves etc). Including the responsibility for escalation and follow up of any issues identified

• Overseeing the fixed asset accounting, including monitoring of additions/ disposals and ensuring that the correct depreciation is applied

• Responsible for co-ordinating the firmwide overheads included within the Bank’s annual operating plan.

• Input in other aspects of the annual operating plan, including balance sheet projections.

• Assisting the Head of FP&A by providing analysis and commentary for the monthly management accounts

• Along with other members of the financial control team perform and review risk control self-assessments (RCSAs)

• Participate and contribute to ad-hoc projects.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Qualified Accountant ideally ACA, ACCA, CIMA

• A minimum of 2/3 years post qualification experience preferably in banking / financial services

• Ideally previous experience in a cost reporting

• A working knowledge of indirect taxation

• Good working knowledge of controls

• Good data and numeracy skills with attention to detail with ability to maintain accuracy at all times

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• The ability to work autonomously and take

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to ensure efficiency whilst balancing priorities
