JOB SUMMARY

· Responsible for the effective and efficient management of the Bank's Enterprise Risk management framework.

· Monitoring the Bank’s Operational Risk profile and ensuring that the Bank complies with its Operational Risk Management obligations.

· Responsible for the management of the Head of Information Security in delivery of an appropriate Cyber Framework

· As a certified individual under the SMCR you will be required to take all reasonable steps to avoid a contravention from happening, or continuing, in the activities for which you are responsible.

KEY WORK OUTPUT AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Enterprise Risk Management

· Develops, implements and maintains an overarching risk management framework working closely with other key stakeholders to ensure the linkage between areas of risk management is maintained.

· Leads on horizon scanning for relevant regulatory and wider best practice risk management practices.

· Maintain a robust second line Enterprise Risk management function.

Operational Risk Management

· Develops, implements and maintains an operational risk framework that is responsive to the Banks risk appetite, including establishing appropriate scope and scale limits, key performance indicators and early warning signals.

· Identification, assessment, management and reporting of operational risk whenever it arises, together with the development and implementation of relevant policies and procedures, stress testing and reporting.

· Owns and manages the Bank's Risk Control Self-Assessment ('RCSA') framework and provide independent challenge to the Control Office and with other areas (compliance, credit and market) to ensure regular and consistent evaluation across all risk types (including regulatory, reputational and conduct risk).

· Manages the incident identification, assessment and tracking processes to ensure that the Bank learns from mistakes in order to reduce the potential for re-occurrence in a cost effective manner.

· Manages, maintains, and develops relationships with internal departments, clients and counterparties, and other stakeholders such as regulators and auditors. Provides training and support as required in the Bank's operational risk management framework.

·Provision of training and support as required in the Bank's operational risk management framework.

· Contributes to the Bank's Internal Capital Adequacy Process ('ICAAP') and Recovery Plan in respect of operational risk.

· Manages and works with the Banks Head of Information Security in delivering and maintaining the Banks Cyber Risk Framework, including relevant technology to provide appropriate protection both externally and internally for the Bank

· Oversees and challenges the Operational Resilience Framework, ensuring appropriate consideration is given to risks and incidents identified within the Operational Risk Framework that may have an implication or impact within Operational Resilience. Working closely with the Chief Operations and Controls Officer (COCO) in delivering and managing the frameworks component parts, being; Important Business Services / Impact Tolerances / Scenario and Stress Testing

· Manages and reports the firms perspective on the Outstanding Corrective Actions (OCAs), as identified by the Banks Internal Audit partners

· Manages the relationship and delivery of the Banks corporate insurance programme through the Banks preferred Broker, ensuring limits agreed are relevant to the risks the Bank faces and these are agreed as appropriate with the relevant EXCO members. As well as providing suitable visibility and assurance for sign off to the Board and CRO / CEO

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

· Extensive risk management knowledge gained in the financial services industry.

· Prior senior role in operational risk management

· Leadership skills, with a focus on communication, delivery and business engagement

. Knowledge and experience of relevant legal and regulatory issues in the UK and, where appropriate, other jurisdictions in which the bank operates.
