BACB Strengthens European Presence with New Munich Office

Press Releases

BACB recently opened a Representative Office in Munich to build our European presence. Thomas Hausner heads up the bureau and our London-based Senior Manager of Europe and Americas, Martin Broadhurst supports as a coordination point at Head office.

The bank is now well placed to serve clients in Germany, as well as Austria and Switzerland, the so-called DACH region, which is home to a large number of export-driven small and medium-sized businesses.  DACH is rich with manufacturing and technology companies and BACB can add much value in support of the DACH-Africa trade flow through its ‘two client approach’. This approach enables us to develop and maintain close relationships with both the exporter and the importer’s bank in trade transactions and thereby ensuring a high level of tailor-made service with best execution which encourages good repeat business flows.

As BACB is a bank that covers exports to niche markets, Munich provides BACB with the best strategic positioning to support our Trade Finance clients exporting to niche markets by making the bank the go-to institution to accommodate Trade Finance deals into Africa  for SMEs and for DACH-head office multinational companies. Other regions of coverage are the Middle East and South Asia.

Thomas’ role is integral to creating, building and identifying relationships with new and potential clients, whilst Martin acts as the focal point in London for the coordination of all DACH-related Trade Finance business and existing client relationships in the DACH region.

Since the Munich office was opened, we have had a very positive reception, with exporters and German banks appreciating BACB being on the ground now for easy communication and successful cooperation.
