Dear valued clients and partners,

On behalf of myself and all the staff at BACB, we hope that you and your loved ones are safe and well, and that you have been able to maintain stability in your business operations in these challenging times. We would like to take this opportunity to provide an update from BACB and hopefully some much-needed reassurance in this period of uncertainty.

The situation around COVID-19 has evolved substantially over the past few months, with countries across the world facing unprecedented social and economic challenges. We are extremely proud of how our employees and clients have pulled together and continued to work diligently and effectively throughout this period.

We are pleased to inform you that BACB continues to remain fully operational, with no service interruption as a result of the crisis. In line with government guidelines, staff in our London headquarters, as well as in our representative offices in Algiers, Abidjan and Tripoli, migrated swiftly and seamlessly to remote working arrangements, and have remained on-hand to provide day-to-day assistance since the start of the crisis.

Trade flows have naturally faced great adversity during this period, but have been critically important to enabling public and private sector responses to the virus and paving the way for recovery, which we hope is now on the horizon. We are proud to have played our part in facilitating the movement of goods throughout the crisis and have endeavoured to make our financing and provision of services as flexible as possible to accommodate our clients’ needs as the situation has evolved.

We understand that now, more than ever, clients need trusted and nimble partners to help them navigate the challenging business environment. In this respect, we are well-positioned to continue to support your needs given our strong financial position and sector expertise. Our commitment to our clients and stakeholders remains unwavering.

Our aim is to be your banking partner for specialist markets, we will continue to maintain contact with you, and over the next few weeks we will be reaching out to you to gather information about how we can continue to best serve you going forward. In the meantime, please do stay safe and if you have any concerns, we encourage you, as always, to please contact your dedicated relationship manager who will be happy to help.

Thank you for your continued support and collaboration, and we look forward to brighter days ahead.

Best wishes,

Susie Aliker
