BACB appoints established trade finance expert Damian Austin as Chief Banking Officer

Experienced senior banking professional Damian Austin to join BACB’s Executive Committee with a remit to drive the business forward.

British Arab Commercial Bank (BACB), the UK-regulated, specialist trade finance bank has announced that Damian Austin will become its new Chief Banking Officer. In this key leadership role at BACB Damian will report directly to CEO Paul Jennings, where he will be responsible for the Bank’s key business development activities, incorporating Trade Finance, Real Estate, and Banking & Payment Services. Additionally, he will continue to oversee the corporate and financial institution coverage, working with BACB’s team of Relationship Managers and Transaction Client Services Team.

Damian has over 25 years of experience, with a proven record in originating, structuring, and syndicating transactions across a variety of specialist markets. Prior to his work at BACB, Damian has held several key leadership roles including Interim European Head of Wholesale Banking & European Head of Global Transaction Banking at Bank ABC, as well as senior positions within HSBC and Barclays, where he helped build and lead their Global Trade Syndications team.
